Q. What is the Afripay Prepaid  Card?
A: Afripay is a Prepaid card  that allows anyone to make  payment   on the Internet for the purchase of goods and service on any web site. It can be used for all purchases except adult sites and Internet gambling websites. And because it's a prepaid card, you can only spend however much you have credited your account with.

Q:  How much does it cost to get Afripay Account?
A.  Each Afripay account has an  activation fee  of  Ksh 3,000 for the Virtual card. 

Q: Will I get back the activation fee?
A: No, it is a non-refundable fee.

Q: What is the validity of the card?
A:  For the Virtual Visa Card it is one year.

Q: Is shopping online safe with Afripay Card?                                                                                                     A: Each Prepaid Visa Card account is protected with a password that is created by  Afripay. Afripay uses SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online. All Passwords are SSL encrypted using 128 bit encryption. However, each e-commerce web site handles its own encryption security during online transactions. When shopping online, look for indications of proper security such as the SSL encryption lock icon or a TRUSTe stamp of approval.

Q: Why is your rate of exchange so high?
.A.To shield us from fluctuating currencies and allow us to provide service to you, we have to charge a rate that will cover us in any eventuality.

Q.What are the major features of this card?
A.The Visa  card really is virtual - Only visa card details and US billing address is provided via encripted email.

Q: Do I need a US address to have an account?
A: No. Afripay provides you with a free US billing address to use. This can be used as a shipping address if needed.

Q.What about fraud and theft?
A. Your card is essentially the same as cash, so you should treat it that way. Keep on your card account only the funds you are planning to spend shortly. Guard your Virtual and Physical card information associated with your card. If you lost your number or believe it's been stolen you should contact Afripay office at +254- 20-2730770/1 immediately.

Q.How can I check my card's balance?
A. Write a request to  "sales@Afripay.net" and you will be assisted promptly.

Q.How much am I charged when shopping?
A. No amount is charged per transaction..


Q:  What happens if I use my Account to make a payment and the merchant, after charging the card does not provide the service?
A:  Afripay and the card Issuer are not responsible if any person does not honor your Card. Incase of defects in or non-delivery of any goods or services you purchased or leased by using the Card, you will be required to mail the merchant and resolve the issue. Afripay of course  will assist as much as we can in this respect. We will need the following information to assist in this matter; (a) The card number we issued to you, (b) the merchant site you used, (c) the goods purchased and (d) the amount and date of the transaction.

Q:Is Afripay a Bank or a Financial Institution?
A: Afripay is not a bank or a financial institution. The service that we offer is facilitated by legally licensed Credit card issuing financial institutions based in the United States of America. We are simply intermediaries between you the client and the financial Institutions.
Any Visa card issuing institution that we deal with is a legal affiliate of Visa card International. And we ensure that all deposit are placed in a Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insured bank in compliance with United States laws.

Q: Who can apply?
A:  Anyone can apply, any nationality / citizenship.

Q: Do I need to show any ID?
A:  Yes, you need to come with a copy of your ID or driving license or Valid passport.

Q: Can I also make purchases online using Afripay Card?
A: Yes, of course,  at any Website  accepting Visa/ Master Card anywhere in the world .

Q: How can I fund the card?
A:  There are several ways of reloading your account and one of them is a direct deposit to our bank account (details of which will be provided on request) or you can come to our office at Titan Complex, Mezzanine Floor, Chaka Road, and make a direct payment.

Q: Is it a credit card?
A:  Absolutely NOT. It is a debit card. You have got to fund it before using it .


Q: Can I order it for someone else?
A:  Yes, you can.

Q: Can I use Virtual Visa Card at ATM machines?
A:  No, since it is only supposed for ONLINE usage.
